Autobiography
05:08
|
|||
I got married to my screen
Gave birth to a new meme
Found a nice quiet place
Somewhere in cyber space
Settled down in the void
Made love to my android
Soon I was in so deep
Couldn't press control alt delete
I began to speak just in emojis
Played chess online when I became lonely
Made friends with people that I had only
Shared a smiley face
Saw the world with the tip of my finger
Surfed the web from Berlin to India
Seven wonders before I had dinner
Ordered to my door
I became so senior in social media
Played to the gallery
Liked someone, they liked me
Soon became quite a name
With friends who felt the same
Everyone that I know
Praised my cat videos
And then the system died
I lost my lover and had to go outside
So many memories stuck in that hard drive
I couldn't sleep at night
Without my Apple Mac by my side
I had to read a book
And write these very lines

Mission Mystique
03:34
|
|||
We're the infantry of a hip army
Our uniform: sports clothes from '93
Our loyalty is to Nike
Our principle: upholding irony
Mission mystique
Is to make it seem we're from Twin Peaks
A beanie hat? Roger that
You don't need a helmet on a fixie, just a cap
Alternative? Affirmative
If that means that your Peugeot is vintage
Mission mystique
Is to make it seem we're from Twin Peaks

Jim Jams
06:54
|
|||
Stress level's at a high R-rate
Deliveroo driver's my best mate
I'm on the ceiling, I've climbed up all the walls
Watching the world end on my street
Watching stand-ups on repeat
Doesn't seem to be helping much at all
Isolation isn't so bad
Until the realisation you're alone
It's giving me the jim jams
But I'm keeping it cool for gran
I'm forming a one-man band
I'm dancing in my jim jams
I'm taking one for the team
I'm making some haute cuisine
I've got a keep-fit regime
I'm breaking, to fix machines

Everybody Loves Monopoly
05:33
|
|||
It’s hard to get your cards in a row
And to make your way in the city
To stay at hotels when you pass go
Everybody loves Monopoly
Until it feels you’re on a cycle
To the Waterworks
Meanwhile Jeffrey, your great uncle
Now owns half the earth
But I don’t want your paper money
Think I just need to see somebody
Sitting on the couch next to me
Why invest in any property alone?
Swimming around in the shadow
Of the guy with the silver sports car
Driving by you on Old Kent Road
Maybe the game has gone a bit too far
When it feels you’re on a cycle
To the Waterworks
Meanwhile Jeffrey, your great uncle
Now owns half the earth
But I don’t want your paper money
Think I just need to see somebody
Sitting on the couch next to me
Why invest in any property alone?

The Spell of the Yukon
04:58
|
|||
The summer there's sweeter
The grayling in the river
The bighorn on the hill
And the sunshiny woods all athrill
The winter blinds you
The cold fear finds you
The white land locked tight as a drum
And the silence that bludgeons you dumb
There's gold and it is haunting
It is luring me on as of old
Yet it isn't gold I'm wanting
So much as just finding gold
It's the great big broad land yonder
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder and peace
The mountains are nameless
The lives are aimless
The rivers all run God knows where
And the deaths just hang by a hair
In the mighty-mouthed hollows
The big sun wallows
In crimson and grows dim
Until the moon set the peaks gleaming
There's gold and it is haunting
It is luring me on as of old
Yet it isn't gold I'm wanting
So much as just finding gold
It's the great big broad land yonder
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder and peace
They're making my money diminish
I'm sick of tasting their champagne
Thank god! When I'm skinned to a finish
I'll pike to the Yukon again
So, me for the Yukon once more
